Abstract
Pelalawan Regency is one of the regencies with fairly rapid infrastructure development compared to other regencies in Riau Province, especially Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-District as the capital of Pelalawan Regency. This is characterized by an increase in population and infrastructure improvements made by the Pelalawan Regency government. The purpose of this study was to determine the shape of the City Morphology in Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-District, Pelalawan Regency in 2000, 2010, and 2020 based on functional aspects, structural aspects, and visual aspects. The spatial analysis technique used in this research is the overlay process to determine land cover change and land use change, to determine the pattern of road networks, and building patterns in Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-district. This research uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis with remote sensing interpretation techniques of Landsat and Sas Planet images in 2000, 2010, and 2020 which are complemented by field tests conducted with Stratified Random Sampling. The results showed that the morphology of the functional aspects in 2000, 2010, and 2020 there was a significant increase in the area of residential land and plantations with an increase of 324.28 Ha on residential land and an increase of 5,255.34 Ha on plantation land, the increase in residential land tends to be in three villages, namely in Pangkalan Kerinci Barat Village, Pangkalan Kerinci Kota Village, and Pangkalan Kerinci Timur Village. From the structural aspect, road network patterns tend to be grid and irregular patterns that dominate in all villages in Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-district. Building patterns with organic patterns, curvilinear patterns and concentric radial patterns. Lots or cadastres are trade and service blocks, residential blocks, and industrial area blocks. Visual aspects of figure ground 2000 to 2010 figure field blocks and side blocks, ground 2000 to 2010 central closed system, linear open system and closed system. Figure ground in 2020 figure single block, field block and side block, ground in 2020 linear open system and closed system. Linkage elements are dominant in three villages in Pangkalan Kerinci sub-district. The place element is dominant in one village in Pangkalan Kerinci sub-district. The morphological shape in Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-district from 2000 to 2020 is ribbon-shaped (Ribbon Shaped Cities) because the expansion of built-up land development is influenced by the development of road networks with a spacing model.
