Abstract
Regarding consumer rights to comfort, safety and security when consuming goods and/or services. However, in reality, at the Jastipman Expedition, the delivery of goods does not always run smoothly, there are still many obstacles that cause delays in goods, damage or loss of shipped goods, whether caused by errors/negligence on the part of the Jastipman Expedition or due to force majeure. The main problems in this research are (1) What is the legal protection for consumers regarding the smoothness and feasibility of sending goods via sea transportation in the Anambas Islands based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection (2) What responsibilities can be taken? carried out by business actors in the smooth and appropriate delivery of goods via sea transportation in the Anambas Islands based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection. The method used in this research can be classified as sociological legal research, which is a type of research carried out by going directly to the field using data collection tools in the form of interviews. Meanwhile, the nature of the research that the author uses is descriptive, namely the research method used to describe conditions and circumstances that are occurring or taking place in a clearer and more detailed statement regarding the main research problem. The results of this research are that there are obstacles that arise during the delivery of goods, including delays in goods, damage and even loss of goods. This can be seen from those who experience problems/losses experienced by Jastipman Expedition customers, that there are still several percent who feel they have suffered losses, 22 respondents or around 73% experience losses in terms of delays in sending goods that do not arrive on time. Then as many as 5 respondents or around 17% experienced damage to their shipped goods and 3 respondents or around 10% of consumers experienced loss of goods when using Jatipman goods delivery services. Apart from that, the form of consumer rights protection provided by Jastipman Expeditions in carrying out deliveries to obtain goods that are smooth and suitable is not fully fulfilled. This is because the amount of compensation provided by the Jastipma Expedition is not realized in accordance with the applicable law. Then, there are still many consumer complaints that are not responded to properly.
