Abstract
Population growth and settlement density pekanbaru city, as a rapidly developing city, has experienced a significant increase in population. This population growth causes settlements to become increasingly dense, especially in more urban areas. The infrastructure conditions of dense settlements and low-rise settlements may differ in terms of available infrastructure. Factors such as accessibility, availability of transportation, and other supporting facilities can influence the choice of burial location. This research aims to compare land use for public cemeteries in densely populated and low-density residential areas in Bina Widya District. This research is classified as a deductive approach because the researcher examines common problems based on testing a theory consisting of variables. The comparison of land use for public cemeteries in dense and low-density residential areas in Bina Widya District is within activities that are permitted on a limited/conditional basis. This is based on the explanation that based on the results of the Payung Sekaki TPU overlay it enters the residential area with an area used of 2.69 Ha from the spatial pattern of the residential area in Bina Widya District, while the results of the TPU Sekuntum overlay enters the residential area with an area used of 0 .22 Ha of the spatial pattern of residential areas in Bina Widya District.
