Abstract

School is an institution where children can develop their abilities, talents and knowledge. Improving the quality of education is carried out by various parties in various ways. One indicator of a country having good and adequate quality of education is seen from the increase in student learning achievement, which can be seen from the report card scores obtained and the students' ability to solve problems. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication of teachers and guardians at Telkom Kindergarten Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type with data analysis techniques in the form of observation, observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that effective interpersonal communication between teachers and guardians at Telkom Kindergarten Pekanbaru has been created through five aspects of interpersonal communication according to Devito, namely openness, teachers and guardians maintain an open relationship in communicating, routinely discussing child development and existing problems. Empathy, teachers show concern and understanding of the needs and welfare of children, including in terms of self-protection., Honesty, communication between teachers and guardians is honest and transparent, with clear information about child safety and the education process. Involvement, teachers and guardians are actively involved in ensuring that children receive proper supervision, both at school and at home. Responsibility, teachers demonstrate responsibility for children's safety, by ensuring that they do not go out unsupervised, and ensuring that information regarding child pick-up is properly confirmed.
