Abstract
The potential of Cawan Island as an ecotourism destination in Indragiri Hilir Regency with a focus on natural resources such as mangrove forests and Solop Beach. The main research problem discussed is the need to study the ecotourism potential of Cawan Island and its suitability for sustainable development. The study aims to identify existing conditions, measure feasibility, and identify ecotourism potential in the area. The analysis technique used is feasibility analysis using the 2003 PHKA Operational Area Analysis of Tourist Attractions and Objects (ADOODTWA) guidelines to see its suitability as a tourist attraction. Based on the results of the assessment of the feasibility of ecotourism potential in the Cawan Island tourist attraction area, the Mandah sub-district has many potential ecotourism objects, the beauty of natural panoramas, the beauty of Solop beach, as well as the diversity of flora and fauna. The findings show that Cawan Island has significant ecotourism potential, with the highest feasibility index found in infrastructure and facilities at 94.52%. Recommendations include improving accessibility, providing nature-themed accommodation, and developing temporary business facilities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of government involvement and community involvement in ecotourism development. Overall, this research contributes to the conservation and sustainable development of Cawan Island as an ecotourism destination.
