Abstract

According to Indahsari (2020) Podcast is one of the popular technologies created to support language learning Podcast. The objective of this research was to know the effet of students’ improvement in Listening Comprehension using Podcast at SMAN 3 Siak Hulu. In this research, the researcher use quantitative research. The sample was taken from eleventh grade students of SMAN 3 Siak Hulu, with the total 176 students. The researcher choses two classes, the experimental class with 26 students and the control class with 26 students. The experimental class that the researcher already done given treatment with audio Podcast. The research instrument was in the form of two tests in the form of essays. During the data collection stage, three phases must be completed: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. After analyzing the data researcher found that the experimental class’s mean score was 54.77 in the pre-test, and 66.15 in the post-test. At the same time, the mean score of control class was 64.12 in the pre-test and 53.85 in the post test. The result of the t-test using independent sample t-test in SPSS 26 show that the t-test (2.741) > t-table (2.008). While the significant value of the analysis is with sig (2-tailed) 0.008, the significant less than 0.05. It could be concluded that there was significant improv in students Listening Comprehension using Podcast on the eleventh grade students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text at SMAN 3 Siak Hulu.
