Abstract
Soil stabilization is a process to improve subgrade soil by adding other materials or mechanically to meet the requirements of soil strength and durability for road works, (PUPR, 2010). The purpose of this research is to determine the physical properties of the original soil, the density value of the soil after stabilization, the UCS value of the soil after stabilization, and the effect of soaking on the UCS value after stabilization. This research was conducted with quantitative methods in this case by conducting laboratory testing. This testing method is by Standard Proctor testing and UCS testing. Soil stabilization using cement additives and DIFA Soil Stabilizer. The composition carried out is the original soil plus 5%, 8%, and 10% cement, the highest UCS value of cement variation plus DIFA Soil Stabilizer 1%; 1.5%; and 2%. Then the highest UCS value of cement and DIFA Soil Stabilizer mixing was tested in a soaked state. The results of testing the physical properties of soil in the form of moisture content of 286,658%, specific gravity of 1,444, analysis of retained sieve No.200 of 97,2%, fiber content of 73,4%, and entered into the PT symbol on visual identification (ASTM D2488). The density value of the native soil of Teluk Meranti Sub-district based on the Standard Proctor test is 4,99 kN/m³. The UCS value of unsoaked native soil is 174,29 kN/m². The UCS value in the unsoaked state obtained the highest value of 273,448 kN/m² in soil plus 10% cement. The UCS value in the unsoaked state obtained the highest value of 305,00 kN/m² in soil plus 10% cement and 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer. The highest UCS value in soil mixed with 10% cement and 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer at the age of 1 day was 255,59 kN/m².
