Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of family social support on psychological well-being in health personnel at Hospital X Pekanbaru. The research method used is quantitative with saturated sampling technique, involving 100 health personnel as samples. Measurements were made using The Social Provision Scale to measure family social support and Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale to measure psychological well-being. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between family social support and psychological well-being of health personnel, with a correlation coefficient value of (r) = 0.311 and a significance of 0.002 <0.05. There is 9.7% of family social support on psychological wellbeing, while the rest is influenced by other factors. The results of this study explain that the higher the family social support received, the better the psychological well-being of health personnel. Therefore, it is important for hospitals to support health personnel in obtaining a balance between work and personal life in order to improve their psychological well-being.
