Abstract

PT Rafindo Mutiara Abadi is a company engaged in producing bricks, the quality of bricks is still a problem due to the emergence of several types of defects during the production process. This study aims to identify the types of damage and the total amount of damage to brick products and determine the factors that cause damage during production. The method used in this research is the Six Sigma-DMAIC method of Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control phase. Six Sigma is a structured methodology used to improve processes in the process variation effort while reducing defects. By analysing the brick production process using Six Sigma�DMAIC, the type of damage can be identified. Based on the results of the Six Sigma-DMAIC analysis, there are 4 types of brick product damage, namely broken or broken, cracked, cuil and burnt. With the total amount of product damage in May, namely a total of 7.069 pieces of bricks on Monday 06 May the number of defective products was 993 pieces of bricks, Tuesday 07 May 1.019 pieces of bricks, Wednesday 08 May 929 pieces of bricks, Thursday 09 May 984 pieces of bricks, Friday 10 May 1.002 pieces of bricks, Saturday 11 May 1.024 pieces of bricks, Sunday 12 May 1.118 pieces of bricks. There are factors that cause damage during the production process, namely material factors due to the absence of raw material SOPs, human factors due to lack of training and methods due to the absence of production process SOPs.
