Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between peer conformity and smoking behavior in Riau Islamic University students who use e-cigarettes. The use of e-cigarettes is increasingly influencing the lifestyle of students along with social changes and the times. One of the influencing factors is the negative influence of peers. The desire to conform to peers is one of several things that drive conformity. Conformity is considered to help gain acceptance and attention from peers. As a result, smoking behavior is strongly influenced by interactions with peers. This study was conducted on 384 Riau Islamic University students who used e-cigarettes, using quantitative methods with sampling techniques, namely purposive sampling, obtained a correlation coefficient value of (r) = 0.525 with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05 these results indicate that there is a significant relationship between peer conformity and smoking behavior where the stronger the peer conformity, the higher the level of smoking behavior.
