Abstract
Students often work part-time to meet financial needs or gain work experience. However, working part-time in addition to studying makes it difficult for students to divide their time between work and college assignments, which can cause academic stress for students. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic stress in part-time working students at the Islamic University of Riau. This research method uses a quantitative approach. The sample in this study consisted of 103 working students using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by distributing question instruments regarding the scale of self-efficacy and academic stress. Based on the results of the Spearman's rho test, there is a significant relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic stress with - 0.385 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that the higher the academic self-efficacy, the lower the academic stress. Conversely, the lower the academic self-efficacy, the higher the academic stress in part-time working students at the Islamic University of Riau.
