Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of students' understanding of Islamic fiqh that occurs in students of SMP N 1 Lubuk Dalam and is given a solution of contextual learning model. Understanding is something that is very important for students to be able to define something and master it in order to succeed in learning. This study aims to determine; the level of contextual learning model of SMP N 1 Lubuk Dalam; students' understanding of fiqh in SMP N 1 Lubuk Dalam; and the influence of contextual learning model on students' understanding of Islamic fiqh in SMP N1 Lubuk Dalam. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation approach. The population used was 85 students with a sample of 85 people with the technique used saturated sampling. How to collect data using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques descriptive test and linearity test. The results of this study indicate that the level of contextual learning models in SMP N 1 Lubuk Dalam is 0.6874 or 68.74% with a fairly good category; then the level of students' understanding of Islamic jurisprudence is 0.6832 or 68.32% with fairly good criteria; and the research hypothesis stating that there is an influence of X on Y is accepted. Then the magnitude of X's influence on Y is 0.779 or 77.9%, with an F value = 128,327 and a significance value of 0.000, it can be interpreted that there is an influence of contextual learning models on students' understanding of Islamic jurisprudence in SMP N1 Lubuk Dalam. The magnitude of the influence is 0.607 or 60.7%. This shows that students' understanding of Islamic jurisprudence at SMP N1 Lubuk Dalam is influenced by the demonstration method by 60.7% with fairly strong criteria. If X is applied 1 level can increase Y by 0.720 or 72%. So it can be concluded that the results of this study are that there is an influence of the contextual learning model on students' understanding of Islamic jurisprudence at SMP N 1 Lubuk Dalam.
