Abstract

This study was motivated by the researcher’s awareness that reciting the Quran is very important because there are teachings that Allah gave to His creatures in the Quran. It was considered that most students had low ability to recite the Quran after observing that one of the students did not pronounce the makhraj letter alHalq (? ? ??? ? ??? (correctly. As students who believe and are devout, it is obligatory for them to recite, understand and practice the Quran. Therefore, in learning and teaching activities about the Quran, it should be paid more attention so that the students can recite, understand and practice the teachings commanded in the Quran. An obstacle for the students in reciting the Quran was the difficulty of pronouncing the letters in the Quran, for example pronouncing the Makhraj letter al-Halq (? ? ??? ? ??? ,(namely the letter that comes out through the throat. The examples of these letters are 'ain (? (and ha' (? ,(and there were still many students who did not pronounce them correctly. So far, the teachers implemented the lecture method, which made the students bored in learning, so that learning outcomes in introducing Makhraj letters were not achieved. However, the researcher provided a solution by implementing the Interactive Learning Media in introducting Makhraj letters to improve the students’ abilities to recite the Quran at SMA YLPI of Pekanbaru City. The media had been designed to avoid the students getting bored in teaching and learning and to improve the students’ learning outcomes through the Interactive Learning Media. The researcher’s aim was to find out how the implementation of Interactive Learning Media could run well, smoothly and had a positive influence on students’ abilities to recite the Quran.
