Abstract

Transportation is a very important means of facilitating the wheels of the economy and affecting all aspects of life. The creation of means of transportation is due to the very high mobility of the population. It is on this basis that many people are looking at business opportunities for buying and selling used cars due to the high demand for used cars. But unfortunately it is not accompanied by strong legal tools and regulations. There is no special law that regulates all the rules for buying used cars, even though many consumers feel disadvantaged in buying and selling used cars, because most of these used cars have a lot of damage. The main problems in this study are first, to know and understand the application of the principle of good faith in used car sales and purchase agreements (Study of Used Car sales by individuals). Second, to know and understand the obstacles to the application of the principle of good faith in used car sales and purchase agreements (study of used car sales by individuals). The type of research used in this research includes sociological research. This research was conducted in Bangkinang City. Data collection techniques using interviews. The population and sample are parties related to the overall problem of this research. Data analysis used is a qualitative technique by way of deductive inference. From the results of the study that the application of the principle of good faith in used car sales and purchase agreements (study of used car sales by individuals) was carried out well, although it was not optimal. Barriers to the application of the principle of good faith in used car sales and purchase agreements (study of used car sales by individuals), such as when buying a car is not checked beforehand, car sales do not have a guarantee, consumer negligence, lack or not maximal good faith in businessmen
