Abstract
The aim of this research is to look at the tourism and culture department's strategy in developing the Kapur River tourist attraction, Kampar district, Riau province in 2023. The focus of this research is to develop an integrated tourism sector between each sector and understand the importance of the role of tourism in a development process. sustainable. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this research are the strategies carried out by the District Culture and Tourism Office. Kampar in developing the Kapur River tourist attraction has not been optimal, such as a lack of cross-sectoral coordination between the government and the community, low quality of Human Resources (HR), not yet optimal breakfast and infrastructure, and not yet mastering digital promotion. The findings in this research are that the strategy for developing tourist attractions is still not being implemented well due to a lack of coordination between the government and local communities. This research contributes as a knowledge reference for strategies for developing natural tourist attractions for the Culture and Tourism Office of Kampar Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia
