Abstract

This research was motivated by the rapid growth of zakat institutions in Indonesia, which required amil (zakat managers) with effective and efficient strategies and competencies in zakat management. The research problem in this study was: How was the Human Resource Development Strategy at National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Riau Province? The objective of this research was to determine the Human Resource Development Strategy at National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Riau Province. This research was conducted at BAZNAS Riau Province. The type of research used was descriptive qualitative. The informants in this study included the Vice Chairman 4, Executive Chairman, Internal Audit Unit, Head of Collection, Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, Administration & General Affairs, Fundraising, and Marketing Communication at BAZNAS Riau Province. Data collection techniques involved interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data preparation, editing, coding, and data presentation. The results of the study showed that BAZNAS Riau Province had a good and optimal strategy for developing its human resources. This was achieved by implementing development strategies through education, training, and career development for its human resources. As a result, the amil became more competent in managing Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) and achieved the institution's vision and mission of improving the community's economic welfare through various programs at BAZNAS Riau Province, supported by the human resource development efforts undertaken.
