Abstract
Rubber commodity is one of the commodities in Kasang Bangsawan Village that has the potential to continue to be developed both in terms of farming and marketing, so the right strategy is needed to maximize this potential. This research aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of farmers and traders, (2) Rubber farming, (3) Bokar marketing and (4) Strategy for developing rubber farming and bokar marketing. The method used in this research is a survey method. The research was carried out in Kasang Bangsawan Village, Pujud District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province from July to December 2023. Data was taken descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. Strategy analysis is obtained from SWOT analysis. Research results: (1) Characteristics of farmers and traders, the average productive age is 41.75 years and 49.60 years, the average education level of farmers and traders is 9.66 years and 12 years, the farming experience of farmers and traders is on average the average is 21.81 years and 21.40 years and the average number of family dependents of farmers and traders is 3 people. (2) Rubber cultivation technology is not technically appropriate, the average farmer's land area is 1.31 Ha, the average total workforce is 198.13 HOK/year, the average total capital is IDR 21,334,125.53, The average total production cost is IDR 10,397,307.85/Ha/Year. The average gross income is IDR 22,344,353.57/Ha/Year and the average net income is IDR 11,947,045.72/Ha/Year. RCR is 2.15. (3) The institutions and channels involved in marketing bokar are farmers, village-level collectors, sub-district collectors and factories. The marketing function is carried out through 2 channels, namely, channel 1: farmers to village level collectors then to sub-district level collectors, channel 2: farmers to sub-district level collectors. Farmers carry out marketing functions except purchasing, transportation, management, standardization and grading functions. Collecting traders carry out marketing functions except management functions. In channel 1 marketing costs are IDR 537.01/Kg, profit is IDR 7,362.99/Kg, marketing margin is IDR 7,900.00/Kg, Farmer's share is 52.12%, efficiency is 3.25%. In channel 2 marketing costs are IDR 394.08/Kg, profit is IDR 7,805.92/Kg, marketing margin is IDR 8,200.00/Kg, Farmer's share is 50.30%, efficiency is 2.39%. (4) SWOT analysis in the SWOT diagram obtained coordinates (-0.20:-0.13) where these coordinates are located in quadrant IV, namely the WT strategy. WT strategy in the SWOT matrix is to carry out rubber cultivation techniques in accordance with the SOP. Avoid land conversion.
