Abstract

PT. Ritra Cargo is a company that provides goods shipping services through various routes and destinations. Efficiency in distribution is crucial to reduce operational costs, so a transportation model analysis is needed to provide the best solution in determining the combination of shipping routes that minimizes total costs. To analyze the transportation problem in this study, several transportation models were used, such as the Northwest Corner Model, Least Cost, Vogel’s Approximation Method, Stepping Stone, and Modified Distribution (MODI). This approach aims to find the most efficient shipping distribution and minimize the total shipping costs. The results of the study indicate a difference in transportation costs before and after applying the transportation model, with a total shipping cost savings of 4.48%. This indicates that the application of an optimal transportation model can help PT. Ritra Cargo reduce shipping costs and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
