Abstract

This research aims to identify sources of electricity waste at the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Riau, and formulate elimination strategies based on lean management principles as an effort to support campus environmental sustainability. The research results show that electronic devices such as air conditioners (AC), lights, LCD projectors, fans, and computers are the main contributors to energy waste. Inefficient use of air conditioning, lights left on in empty rooms, and computers remaining active without activity are significant causes. The waste elimination strategy focuses on increasing supervision of electricity usage, utilizing energy-efficient technology, promoting individual responsibility, and educating the academic community about the importance of energy efficiency. Measures such as the use of automatic sensors, replacement of equipment with energy-efficient technology, and the implementation of energysaving policies have proven effective in reducing energy consumption. This approach not only reduces operational costs but also supports the achievement of environmental sustainability. This study concludes that the application of lean management in energy management at the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Riau, can optimize resource efficiency and promote the creation of an eco-friendly campus.
