Abstract

Flowers is an ornamental plant business located in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. Mika Flowers provides various types of Aglaonema ornamental plants. One type of Aglaonema ornamental plant that is most popular with consumers is the Aglaonema suksom type. Along with efforts to increase farming profits from the Aglaonema Suksom ornamental plant, there is a need for farming analysis. This research aims to (1) Analyze the characteristics of entrepreneurs, workers and the profile of Aglaonema Suksom ornamental plant farming in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province (2) Analyze Aglaonema Suksom ornamental plant farming at Mica Flowers in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province and 3) Analyze the strategy for developing Aglonema suksom ornamental plant farming. This research method was carried out using a survey method which took place at the Mica Flower farming business in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This research was carried out for 6 months from August to January 2024. Respondents were determined using a census consisting of 2 workers and entrepreneurs who cultivated the Aglaonema suksom ornamental plant itself. The data in this research comes from primary data and secondary data. The type of data used consists of quantitative and qualitative data. The research results show that: 1) Entrepreneurs aged 53 years and workers aged 48 years are the productive age group. D3 (Diploma) entrepreneur education level with 1 family dependent, 22 years of entrepreneur experience. This aglaonema suksom ornamental plant farming business is an individual business. With business capital worth Rp. 25.000.000. 2) Farming costs are Rp. 1.806.484/month. With a fixed fee of Rp. 105.064/month and variable costs Rp. 1.701.420/month, the gross income earned per month is Rp. 4.000.000 and net income of Rp. 2.193.516per month if the Aglaonema Suksom ornamental plant is sold on average 8 units per month. The efficiency of this ornamental plant business is 2,2. 3) SWOT matrix calculation analysis provides an alternative strategy that best suits the state of internal and external environmental factors for Ornamental Plant Business Development in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City, namely the S-T (Strengths-Threat) strategy with an alternative strategy score of 4,51.
