Abstract
This study uses two variables: Compensation (X) as the independent variable and Employee Performance (Y) as the dependent variable. The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze the effect of compensation on employee performance at PT. Sumber Kencana Indo Palma (SKIP) in Batang Gansal District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The type of research is associative, and the research method is quantitative, utilizing SPSS 25 software. The population and sample in this study consist of 52 employees of PT. Sumber Kencana Indo Palma (SKIP). The data for this study were obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis techniques employed in this study include validity tests, reliability tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and coefficient of determination. The results of the study indicate that the compensation variable has a significant effect on employee performance. This is evident from the t-value of 6.252 > 2.008 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, which allows the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha), meaning that there is a significant effect of compensation on employee performance. Based on the results of the determination test, the R2 value is 0.553 or 55.3%, which means that the independent variable, compensation, accounts for 55.3% of the variation in the dependent variable, employee performance. The remaining 44.7% is influenced by factors not examined in this study.
