Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of leadership and work discipline in members of the 01 Bangko Military Rayon Command. The informants in this study were members of the 01 Bangko Koramil. In this study, participants were selected intentionally (purposive sampling) based on certain criteria that are relevant to the research topic. This study is a type of qualitative descriptive research, namely a method used by researchers to find knowledge or theories for research at a certain time. The results of the study stated that the role of paternalistic leadership in improving the performance of soldiers of the 01 Bangko Military District Command can have a significant positive impact on the level of motivation, creativity, and performance of team members and strengthen the organizational culture that is oriented towards growth and innovation. While the leadership style applied in the 01 Bangko Military District Command is still more tolerant and there are weaknesses and less assertive. The implementation of disciplined work leadership in improving the performance of soldiers of the 01 Bangko Military District Command shows that there is still a lack of work discipline, as evidenced by the fact that there are still members who violate, not having morning/afternoon roll call. In this regard, supervision and control from the Commander are needed every day, which can suppress disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational regulations. Meanwhile, the implementation of corrective discipline is through "reward and punishment". Thus, the soldiers will comply with the established regulations and improve their performance in order to obtain maximum results in their work. The implementation of work discipline is an important aspect in organizational and individual management. When implemented wisely and fairly, work discipline can provide great benefits for productivity, security, employee welfare and the overall success of the 01 Bangko Military Rayon Command.
