Abstract

The background of this research is that language is a tool in establishing communication or interacting with every human being in the form of sound symbols that are issued through words, and every word that is translated has meaning and every meaning that is issued is important in accordance with the agreement in a place of society. Language as a social phenomenon is very complex in its social, cultural, and situational problems. Therefore, language through a linguistic viewpoint has sufficient numbers because language studies also take into account social factors and their placement. Language is not only found in daily activities but can also be found in the world of cinema through the dialogue between the characters in the film. This is what attracts the writer to examine expressive speech acts in the 3-color realm film by A. Fuadi. The formulation of the problem in this study are: 1). What are the forms of expressive speech acts in the 3-color realm film by A. Fuadi, 2). What is the function of expressive speech acts in the 3-color realm film by A. Fuadi. The aims of this research are: 1). Generate descriptions of expressive speech acts in the 3-color realm film by A. Fuadi, 2). Producing a description of the function of expressive speech acts in 3 color domain films by A. Fuadi. The research method uses content analysis method (content analysis). Data collection techniques used are documentation techniques, observe and record. Data analysis techniques include the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, verification/conclusion. The results of this study found as many as 75 data. Expressive speech acts of praise found 15 data. Expressive speech acts of saying thank you found 14 data. Expressive speech acts of apologizing found 16 data. Expressive speech acts of happiness found 15 data. Complaining speech acts found 15 data.
