Abstract
Illicit drug trafficking has a detrimental impact on society as a whole and on individuals, especially the younger generation, which can have an even greater influence on national life and cultural norms, ultimately undermining the security of the state. One type of transnational crime is one that has a significant negative impact on the future generations of a country. This is especially true in the Kemuning Police Legal Area in Indargiri Hilir Regency, where drug abuse and illicit trafficking are still rife. Through an efficient management network with high mobility and advanced technology, drug trafficking syndicates can easily cross national borders around the world and enter Indonesia as a transit country or even a destination country for illegal drug trafficking. Drug trafficking will damage the nation's generation if it is not properly monitored. To combat drug crimes, all components of the Indonesian nation must work together effectively, especially in the Legal Area of Kemuning Police, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The problem in this article is the factors that make it difficult to combat illegal drug trafficking in the jurisdiction of Kemuning Police Station, Indragiri Hilir Regency, and the efforts that have been made to overcome these problems. Based on the type of research, this research is observational research, which is research conducted by observing symptoms or phenomena that appear in the field through surveys. This research is descriptive, which is a research whose main objective is to objectively describe a situation and provide data as accurately as possible regarding the elements that hinder efforts to counter illicit drug trafficking in the Legal Area of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Police. Based on the findings, the efforts of Kemuning Police of Indragiri Hilir Regency in combating illicit drug trafficking are based on several factors, including facilities and infrastructure, economy, personnel, law enforcement, society, and organized drug trafficking. Pre-emtif (coaching), Preventive (prevention), and Repressive (prosecution) are three strategies used by Kemuning Police of Indragiri Hilir Regency in combating drug trafficking. Pre-emtif efforts (coaching) are initial efforts made by the police to overcome, prevent, and eradicate criminal acts. Preventive efforts (prevention) are through counseling, socialization, banners, and distribution of pamphlet brochures. Efforts (Repressive), namely by applying law enforcement to the perpetrators of narcotics crimes.
