Abstract

This research aims to determine the main and interaction effects of NPK phonska and boiler ash on the growth of cocoa plants (Theobroma cacao L.). This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution No. 113, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. This research was carried out for 3 months, starting from March to May 2024. The research used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is NPK phonska consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 g/polybag and the second factor is boiler ash consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 150, 300 and 450 g/polybag. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, largest leaf area, root volume. The data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of NPK phonska and boiler ash was significant on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, largest leaf area and root volume. The best treatment was a combination of NPK phonska 12 g/polybag and boiler ash 450 g/polybag, the main effect of NPK phonska was significant on all observed parameters. The best treatment is NPK Phonska 12 g/polybag. The main effect of boiler ash was significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment was 450 g boiler ash/polybag.
