Abstract

Research with the title “Effect of Rice Husk and NPK 16:16:16 Fertiliser on Growth and Production of Red Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench)” has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, from June to September 2024. This study aims to determine the effect of rice husk and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of red okra plants. This study used a completely randomised design with 2 factors. The first factor is rice husk consists of 4 levels namely 0, 250, 500, 750 g per plot and the second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 consists of 4 levels namely 0, 5, 10, 15 g per plant so that there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, and the number of remaining fruits. Data were analysed statistically and followed by (BNJ) at 5%. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the interaction of rice husk and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affects the parameters of plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, and the number of remaining fruits, and has no significant effect on the parameters of flowering age and harvest age. The best treatment combination was found in the S3N3 treatment, namely rice husk at a dose of 750 g per plot and NPK 16:16:16 fertiliser at a dose of 15 g per plant. The main effect of rice husk was significant on all parameters. The best treatment is rice husk with a dose of 750 g per plot. The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 was significant on all parameters observed. The best treatment was Pearl NPK 16:16:16 at a dose of 15 g per plant.
