Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction and main effect of Trichocompost and organic NPK fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery on PMK soil, which was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for four months, from October 2022 to February 2023. This study used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dosage of Trichocompost (T) fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0; 40; 80; 120 g per polybag and the second factor is the dose of organic NPK (N) consisting of levels, namely: 0; 30; 60; 90 g per poly bag. Parameters observed were the increase in plant height, the increase in the number of leaf midribs, the increase in the length of the leaf sheaths, the increase in tuber diameter and root volume. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of Trichocompost fertilizer and organic NPK was significant on all observed parameters. The best treatment was Trichocompost 120 g per polybag and 90 g organic NPK per polybag. The main effect of Trichocompost is significant on all observed parameters.
