Abstract

Research entitled the effect of pineapple peel POC with Azolla Pinnata and NPK on the growth and production of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). The study aims to determine the effect of interaction and the main factors of pineapple peel POC with Azolla pinnata and NPK on the growth and production of eggplant. The study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted from June to September 2024. The design used in the study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor is pineapple peel POC with Azolla pinnata consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 50, 150, and 250 ml/liter of water. The second factor is NPK fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30 g/plant, so that there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, so there are 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were the height of the eggplant plant, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit and number of remaining fruits. The observation data were analyzed statistically and continued with a further BNJ test at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the interaction of pineapple peel POC with Azolla pinnata and NPK fertilizer 15:9:20 had a significant effect on the parameters of the height of the eggplant plant, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, and number of remaining fruits. The best treatment was a combination of pineapple peel POC with Azolla pinnata 250 ml/liter of water and NPK fertilizer 30 g/plant. The main effect of pineapple peel POC with Azolla pinnata was significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment was at 250 ml/liter of water. The main effect of NPK fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment was at NPK 30 g/plant.
