Abstract

The rapid development of the internet at this time is not something strange because the development of the internet is directly proportional to the development of the gambling business via the internet (internet gambling). In fact, this is inseparable from the fact that more and more gambling sites are looking for various types of games to play gambling on these gambling sites because all types of games can be easily found and followed on the internet. legal evidence by the public prosecutor who examines a case in order to provide certainty about the truth of the events put forward. In this case the Public Prosecutor is obliged to prove the events put forward by submitting evidence before the trial to be assessed for its veracity by the Panel of Judges. Based on the main problem of the research, the purpose of this research is the authority of the Public Prosecutor in Law Enforcement Against Online Gambling Proof in the Legal Area of the Pekanbaru District Prosecutor's Office and to find out the obstacles in carrying out enforcement of the Rule of Law against Proof of Online Gambling Cyber. The research method used in this study was observational research which was carried out by way of a survey using a data collection tool in the form of interviews. The nature of the research is descriptive, which provides a clear and detailed description of the main problem under study The use of electronic evidence in the process of proving a criminal case is quite difficult but it can be done because now there is a standard or basis for the use of this electronic evidence in our legislation which is written in Article 44 of the ITE Law. In the case of online gambling, evidence that will lead to a criminal act is in the form of electronic data or which is the result of a print out or in other forms, in the form of a history of an activity using a computer connected to the internet network. The regulations regarding proving a cyber are very clear, but if it is related to online gambling games, this evidence is very important to comply with the rules in accordance with the applicable Criminal Procedure Code, because the evidence itself concerns the life of the accused later and there must be the role of an expert in online gambling in proving with tools. Electronic evidence is still very rarely used before court hearings. This is where the importance of the position of an expert is to give confidence to the judge
