Abstract

Research on the effect of Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste and water hyacinth bokashi on the growth and production of shallots has been conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru, conducted for 3 months from April to June 2024. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the interaction of Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste and water hyacinth bokashi on the growth and production of shallots. This study is a 4x4 Factorial Experiment in a completely randomized design, consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor is Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 2500, 3750 and 5000 ml per liter of water and the second factor is water hyacinth bokashi consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 1.5, 3 and 4.5 kg per plot. Each treatment consists of 3 replications so that 48 experimental units are obtained. The parameters observed were plant height, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, harvest age, number of leaves, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per clump and tuber diameter. The observation data were analyzed statistically and carried out with the Advanced Test of Honestly Significant Differences (HSD) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste and water hyacinth bokashi was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was a combination of Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste treatment of 5000 ml/l water and water hyacinth bokashi 4.5 kg/plot. The main effect of Pekanbaru City Market liquid waste was significant on all observation parameters with the best treatment being a dose of 5000 ml/l water. The main effect of water hyacinth bokashi fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters with the best treatment being a dose of 4.5 kg/plot.
