Abstract

As we know in modern times and technology is becoming more and more sophisticated, there are many crime cases everywhere. The perpetrators of this crime do not look ar the impact or effects they will get. Crime is a phenomenon or crime in society. The crime of embezzlement is an unlawful act commited by one or more people, regulated in article 372 of the criminal code (KUHP). The main problem in this research is the factors causing the crime of motorbike embezzlement in the jurisdiction of the tenayan raya police station in pekanbaru city and what efforts to overcome the crime of motorbike theft in the jurisdiction of the tenayan raya police station in pekanbaru city. The method used is observational research, namely by means of a survey conducted by going directly to the field. The data sources used in this research are primary data and secondary data. And the nature of the research is descriptive analysis. The results of the study, the factors that influence embezzlement crimes in the jurisdiction of the Tenayan Raya Police in Pekanbaru City are the weak understanding of religion and faith, economic factors, environmental factors, and educational factors. as for the countermeasures made by the police against motorcycle embezzlement crimes in the jurisdiction of the Tenayan Raya Police in Pekanbaru City, namely in the form of pre-emtif efforts which are initial efforts made by the police to prevent criminal acts. the second preventive effort is a follow-up to pre-emtif efforts which are still at the level of prevention and the last is repressive efforts, namely efforts made when a criminal act / crime has occurred.
