Abstract

Traffic violations are violations that often occur among children due to children's lack of understanding of traffic. Traffic violations are a common phenomenon that occurs in big cities, plus the population is relatively young and the large number of types of motor vehicles means that traffic problems are getting worse. Maintaining order on the roads is very important for our own safety and that of other drivers. The purpose of this research is to determine and analyze law enforcement against traffic violations committed by minors in the jurisdiction of Dumai Police. This research uses a sociological juridical approach, in this case relating to law enforcement against traffic violations committed by minors in the jurisdiction of the Dumai City Police, the requirements for analytical descriptive research. The data is primary data and second data which will be analyzed qualitatively. The results of the research obtained by the author conclude that law enforcement against traffic violations committed by minors in the jurisdiction of the Dumai City Police is through preventive and repressive efforts. In enforcing the law against traffic violations committed by minors, several obstacles arise due to lack of legal awareness, children who are not cooperative, children who cannot take responsibility for their actions, lack of supervision from parents, inconsistent law enforcement, aspects of legal culture. that develops in society, and sanctions that are too light.
