Abstract

The advancement of information technology has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including education, particularly in the management of digital-based library services. The digital book borrowing system can be integrated with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology and utilize electronic identification cards, such as E-KTP and Student Identity Cards (KTM), within a web-based system. This study aims to design and develop a prototype of a library book borrowing system that enables transactions to be conducted more quickly and efficiently using NodeMCU as the main microcontroller, an RFID sensor to read user identities, a buzzer as an audio indicator, a button for manual input, and an LED light as a system status indicator. All activities within the library are processed through a web-based system developed using PHP and MySQL, allowing administrators to manage borrowing information in real-time in a more structured manner. The test results indicate that this system can accelerate the book borrowing and returning process, minimize data entry errors, and improve the operational efficiency of the library compared to the previous system. With this innovation, it is expected that libraries can adopt a more modern and integrated system to enhance service quality and provide convenience for users in conducting book borrowing and returning transactions.
