Abstract

Life Plantation is a program aimed at improving community welfare through the cultivation of primary plants that produce timber or non-timber forest products, or plants that benefit the community. This program is managed through a partnership between the community and the Industrial Plantation Forest (IUPHHK-HTI) permit holders. The partnership is not applied to the entire company area but is specifically targeted at areas prone to conflict, such as those near community settlements around the company. The main problems addressed in this research are How is the implementation of the Life plantation cooperation agreement between PT. Arara Abadi and the Bagan Laguh Village Community, Bunut District, Pelalawan RegencyWhat are the inhibiting factors in implementing the cooperation agreement. This research is empirical legal research conducted through field observation surveys. The data sources include primary data obtained from interviews and secondary data from literature review. The nature of this research is descriptive-analytical, providing a detailed depiction of the research object based on the collected data. Based on research results, the implementation of this cooperation agreement is seen from two sides, namely the company side and the community side, the implementation of this cooperation agreement is not going completely well, from the company side there is minimal public interest in understanding the contents of the agreement, because they feel they have completely handed over the decision to community representatives. On the other hand, from the community side, there is a lack of socialization and open communication from the company regarding the explanation of the agreement so that there are still people in the community who violate the contents of the agreement.
