Abstract

One of the violations of norms that needs special attention from the government is the problem of liquor which is still widely consumed and traded by the wider community, especially in Pekanbaru City. There are still many liquors that are traded without a license from the government and are sold in small shops along the Senapelan District area. Law enforcement is inseparable from the Police Force, the role of the Police Force is very important to tackle community diseases, among community diseases is liquor. This study aims to determine the law enforcement against liquor dealers in the Senapelan Police Region, as well as factors that become obstacles for Police Officers in carrying out Law Enforcement against liquor dealers in the Senapelan Police Region. The method used in this research is sociological legal research. The data collection technique is through interviews and direct observation in the field. While in terms of its nature, this research is descriptive analytical, which is a research method used to provide an overview of the topic under study based on the data or samples collected. From the results of this study law enforcement carried out by the Police against liquor dealers, such as conducting raids, confiscation, destruction of liquor bottles and giving statements to the perpetrators. The inhibiting factors faced by the Police apparatus, such as the lack of coordination between agency officials when conducting joint teams, the sanctions given to the perpetrators are too light so as not to provide a deterrent effect, and the regulations governing this liquor are less strict in providing sanctions.
