Abstract

Legal protection for child victims of indecent acts in Bagan Sinembah continues to increase, which initially in 2021 there were 8 cases, in 2022 the number of cases of sexual abuse increased to two times the previous year, namely 14 cases. Here the author will examine in more detail and in depth related to the crime of sexual abuse in 2022. The crime of sexual abuse in 2022 had 14 cases with child victims aged 8 to 18 years, and the crime of sexual abuse also varies, namely by adults and there are also those committed by minors. Based on the description of the background of the problem above, the main problems that the author will examine can be formulated as follows: What is the form of Implementation of Legal Protection and What are the Inhibiting Factors in providing legal protection for Child Victims of indecent acst in the Jurisdiction of the Bagan Sinembah Police. This type of research is classified as an empirical research method or research conducted by means of a survey. Meanwhile, seen from the nature of this research, it is an analytical description research. The results of the study on the form of legal protection for child victims of indecent acts in the jurisdiction of the Bagan Sinembah Police are: Availability of medical assistance. The police take statements from parents or guardians to make a report. Offering the victim, parent or guardian to contact a counselor. The examination is carried out in a comfortable place and guarantees the confidentiality of the victim's identity. There is provision of legal information to the victim. There is provision of psychological expert assistance. If the child victim of the crime of indecent acts does not have a parent or guardian, the police will contact the PPA service. Inhibiting factors in providing legal protection for child victims of indecent acts in the jurisdiction of the Bagan Sinembah Police are that the child does not have a special lawyer, there are no safe houses which make it difficult for the victim to handle the victim, lack of education and lack of supervision from parents over children's relationships.
