Abstract
Development of an Augmented Reality-Based Application for Learning About Soil Types. The development of an Augmented Reality-based application serves as a learning medium about different soil types, including alluvial soil, andosol soil, peat soil, rendzina soil, and podzolic soil, for junior high school (SMP) students. This application is designed to help students understand the characteristics, benefits, and types of soil through 3D visualization and engagingly presented information. The application is developed using Blender software to create 3D objects, the Unity engine with the ARCore SDK library, and a markerless technique. The markerless technique is implemented to simplify user interaction, as it does not require markers to display 3D animated objects. Testing results on distance show that 3D objects can appear at a minimum distance of 60 cm. Additionally, the application can display 3D objects both indoors and outdoors in textured tracking locations with a light intensity above 40 lux. Based on user testing, an accuracy percentage of 84.82% was obtained from 31 respondents, indicating that the designed application can be effectively implemented as a learning medium for junior high school students.
