Abstract

Children are the most vulnerable group of victims of violence, who need their rights protected. Based on Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (PKDRT), it is explained that the Regional Government and the community are obliged to make efforts to prevent, protect and restore victims of domestic violence. This research was motivated by the increasing number of cases of domestic violence against children. The problems in this research are: 1. What is the form of implementation of legal protection for children as victims of the crime of domestic violence at the UPTD PPA, Meranti Islands Regency. 2. What are the obstacles in implementing legal protection for children as victims of crimes of domestic violence at the UPTD PPA, Meranti Islands Regency. This research method uses field research. Meanwhile, this research is a descriptive analysis, namely providing an overview of the implementation of legal protection for children as victims of criminal acts of domestic violence at the UPTD PPA, Meranti Islands Regency. From the results of this study, the author concludes that in the process of providing legal protection, the UPTD PPA of the Meranti Islands Regency provides the following protection: conducting visits to the victim's home (Home Visit), and providing socialization/counseling to the community. The obstacles of the UPTD PPA of the Meranti Islands Regency are the lack of facilities such as not having a safe house or temporary shelter.
