Abstract

Along with the rapid development of the livestock cultivation sector in Indonesia, the need for animal feed has also increased. So far, most poultry farmers still buy animal feed retail at food stores or retailers, so the profits tend to be small. One effort that can be made to increase farmers' income/profits is usually done by using natural ingredients or organic waste. However, it is necessary to improve the production process in processing animal feed, one effort that can be done is by producing animal feed in the form of pellets with uniform sizes. The aim of this research is to design and build a vertical pellet printing machine with an automatic system. In this research, an Android-based remote control system with Arduino UNO as a microcontroller and with 2 engine rotation variations. With this machine, it is hoped that its operation will be easier so that the manufacturer's work will be more efficient. This design uses a 1.5 HP electric motor with a rotation of 2800 rpm. The results of 3 trials with a fixed shaft rotation of 1050 rpm, this pellet printing machine was able to produce 19.49 kg/hour and the efficiency of the milled pellet making material was 91.3%.
