Abstract

Blood is an important component in the human body, serving as a means of transporting important substances such as sugar, oxygen, and hormones. Blood deficiency can lead to various diseases such as anemia, hypotension, and heart attack. In situations such as accidents or childbirth, blood transfusions are required to overcome blood deficiency. Blood transfusions should be done with respect to blood type, including A-B-O and rhesus classification, to prevent dangerous immunological transfusion reactions. Limited blood stock, especially the rare negative rhesus group, is a challenge in maintaining blood availability. Current blood group detection still relies on the ability of the human eye and bioactive paper media, which is inefficient for testing in large quantities and emergency conditions. This research aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based blood type detection tool. The system consists of two main processes: data retrieval and data storage via HTTP method GET. The device will send data directly to the MySQL database locally, which can later be accessed through a website. The website will capture changes to the database using JavaScript. The test results showed that the system functioned well in the software test, but experienced problems in the hardware test. Nevertheless, the hardware test results showed an accuracy rate of 93.33%.
