Abstract
The banana stem chopper is an important innovation to increase efficiency in processing agricultural waste. By using Arduino Type R3 as a microcontroller to control the counting process. The aim of the research is to design a chopping tool with main components such as a chopping knife totaling 3 blades, a 1.5 HP electric motor with a speed of 2800 rpm as the main engine driver, a transmission system using a V-belt A with a drive pulley measuring 8.4 cm and a pulley diameter of driven measuring 15.6 cm, the diameter of the shaft used measuring 24.8 cm, and the control circuit. and the production results obtained from designing a banana stem chopping machine produced a production output of 236 kg/hour. The design of a banana stem chopper using Arduino Type R3 is expected to provide a solution in managing agricultural waste and increase productivity in processing banana stems. With further development, this tool can be optimized for industrial use. The chopper is expected to be able to chop banana stems to a uniform size and efficiently.
