Abstract
Maintaining the water quality of ornamental fish farming is a major factor in fish farming, the equipment used must continue to function without stopping and no power outages are allowed. With the high cost of electricity at the same time the equipment must continue to function, so alternative energy is needed. To anticipate these problems, alternatives such as solar power are used. New and renewable solar energy has a very important role in meeting energy needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the design of technological innovation in the field of ornamental fish farming using solar energy in Pekanbaru city. The data taken in this study are direct measurements of sunlight intensity, BMKG data from Sultan Syarif Kasim II Station and field research by conducting interview sessions with ornamental fish UMKM players around the Marpoyan damai sub-district in order to find out what devices are used for ornamental fish farming waters to meet the electrical energy needs of these ornamental fish farming UMKM. The results of this study are PLTS is very potential in the city of Pekanbaru which converts solar energy into electrical energy, especially in the dry season with an average peak power hour (Sun Peak Hour) reaching 4.47 hours from 2020 to 2024 with a maximum value of 5.51 in July and a minimum value of 3.5 in December. From the design that has been done, it is known to accommodate power.
