Abstract
Orchid tissue culture is one of the courses taken by students of the Agrotechnology Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University in semester VII. In the world of agriculture, orchid plant tissue culture is an important method for mass plant reproduction. However, this tissue culture practice still faces several challenges, such as human error in manipulating plants, and visualization limitations. Augmented reality is used in designing learning media to help the learning process. To visualize abstract ideas and present them as 2D and 3D objects that seem more real and contemporary, augmented reality technology can be used. The Blender application is used to create objects in this application, and the Unity application is used for 3D displays and the ARCore SDK library uses markerless techniques. The results of testing at a distance of 5 cm 3D objects cannot be displayed outside or indoors, at a distance of 10 to 300 cm 3D objects can be displayed outside or indoors with lighting (> 0 lux), and testing on tracking objects is carried out on plain white objects, textured, and uneven resulting in objects still being displayed successfully. Based on user testing results, this application can be used as a learning tool for orchid plant tissue culture because it achieved presentation accuracy of 92% with 25 respondents.
