Abstract

Fish have a distinctive beauty, unique, various patterns, colors and attractive shapes. Because it has these benefits, fish are widely traded both nationally and internationally. There is a lot of public interest in fish, so the community makes an ecosystem in an aquarium. The aquarium can add and highlight the beauty of the fish. This can be seen by the many shops that sell various types of fish that vary in size and uniqueness and different appearance. Therefore, the Smart Aquarium device equipped with a temperature value of the water is measured using a temperature meter. Measurement of the temperature value of water can also be measured by utilizing Internet of Things technology. The workings of the Internet of Thing use microcontroller modules, sensors and supporting actuators. NodeMCU ESP8266 is a microcontroller that is used to give commands and receive values from sensors. The HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor is a sensor used to measure distances. Turbidity sensor is a sensor used to measure the turbidity level of water. The DS18B20 sensor is a sensor for measuring the temperature value of water. The entire tool is divided into several parts, namely consisting of NodeMCU, Turbidity Sensor, Ultrasonic Sensor, DS18B20 Sensor, pump, and Aquarium. This research aims to develop a Smart Aquarium system with an automatic water change feature based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This system utilizes turbidity, ultrasonic and temperature sensors to monitor the quality of the water in the aquarium. By integrating IoT technology and Telegram notifications, aquarium owners can monitor real-time conditions and receive alerts remotely. The automatic water change system increases convenience and ensures optimal water quality, addressing the challenges faced by busy aquarium owners. The Smart Aquarium system offers an efficient and effective solution for maintaining a healthy environment for ornamental fish.
