Abstract
Almost all steel products produced require a metal joining process by a welding process. One of the parameters that can affect the mechanical properties is the welding voltage and current. If the use of current and voltage is not appropriate, this can cause the mechanical properties of the welded joint to decrease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of voltage variations in electric welding on the mechanical properties of galvanized brocade plates. The mechanical properties tested in this study were impact and bending tests. This welding uses MIG welding with a voltage variation of 18 V, 20 V, and 22 V with a current of 140 A. Based on the results of the study it shows that the impact test at a current of 140 A has the highest average value with a voltage of 22 V of 6.85 J/mm2 compared voltages of 18 V and 20 V. In the bending test the highest stress value is at a current of 140 A with a voltage of 22 V of206.23 Mpa compared to a voltage of 18 V and 20 V. This shows that there is an influence of stress on the mechanical properties of the landing plate, especially in impact testing and bending. The best voltage that can be used in welding is 22 V.
