Abstract

Currently, many crimes occur, one of which is sexual violence, which often occurs to children or adults. Sexual violence is a criminal act that is certainly very detrimental to the victim. The impact of this crime can be clearly felt by the victim himself. Sexual violence itself is a crime that has a great impact on the victim, especially the victim is a child, if parents do not supervise it will have an impact until he is an adult later, it is very unfortunate. Crimes in this form are indeed very vigilant. Forms of violence against children can be classified into physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence and social violence. Legal reform is needed that can provide a deterrent effect on perpetrators and prevention in order to suppress or even eliminate sexual violence against children. Efforts to overcome sexual violence against children are still ineffective. The main problems in this study are: 1) what are the causes of sexual harassment crimes in the jurisdiction of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency Police. 2) How are efforts to overcome criminal acts of sexual harassment in the jurisdiction of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency Police? The research method used in this study is Observational Research (field research) using the method of data collection tools, namely by conducting interviews. This study also uses the Survey Method which is Descriptive Analysis, namely by directly examining the existing data and supported by primary data and secondary data. In the research that I did, sexual violence often occurs, the victims are children and women. Children as the weak group make them one of the most frequent victims, both in the family environment and the environment outside the home. The cause of this sexual crime is due to the lack of supervision from parents and the child's too easy trust in outsiders or anyone. So the cause of the violence experienced by children is because there is a factor of the perpetrator's desire and of course the opportunity for the perpetrator to commit the harassment. In overcoming it, of course, those who see it must reprimand and report it to the authorities. In efforts to overcome sexual violence that often occurs today in children or adult women, it is indeed very disturbing, so of course it must always be under supervision.
