Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the form of legal protection for consumer for late delivery or damaged goods in delivery according to the law of Republic Indonesia number 8 of 1999 (Case study in CV J&T Matur Branch). And to find out the application of legal protection for consumer for late deliver or damaged goods in delivery according to the law of Republic Indonesia number 8 of 1999 (Case study in CV J&T Matur Branch). This type of research is empirical or sociological legal research. This research is descriptive analytical with a qualitative analysis approach through interview techniques, as well as utilizing data and documents in the CV J&T Matur Branch. The data sources in this research are primary data, namely data obtained directly at the research location through observation and interviews, as well as secondary data in the form of documents owned by the company and statutory regulations, literature and data from various relevant sources that are considered relevant. complete. The results of the research show that CV J&T Matur Branch already has consumer protection arrangements regarding delays and damage to the delivery of goods by guiding the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Primarily related to the compensation or compensation that consumers will receive for damaged goods and what claim procedures consumers can carry out. In practice, the implementation of consumer protection regarding delays and damage to the delivery of goods at CV J&T Matur Branch has not been implemented optimally. It is still found that there are consumers who do not receive clear information about the offer to use insurance when sending goods, so consumers cannot choose a service that suits the type and value of the goods sent. As a result, if goods are damaged, it is possible that the compensation received will not meet expectations or not match the value of the goods. The process of claims and service complaints by consumers regarding delays and damage to goods still seems slow to respond, so consumers have to wait for information for an undetermined amount of time.
