Abstract

Indragiri Hulu Regency is one of the districts in Riau Province. Indragiri Hulu Regency has a variety of tourism, including natural tourism, historical tourism and educational tourism, where in Indragiri Hulu Regency there are 14 sub-districts, one of which is Rengat Sub-district which has tourist attractions that are no less interesting, but are less well known by the public. The aim of this research is to create an application for recognizing tourist attractions in Rengat District using Augmented Reality technology using markerless techniques which can help tourists find out tourist attractions in Rengat District. Based on tests carried out, the application can display animated 3D objects at a distance of 30 cm - 200 cm outside or inside the room and can track locations anywhere provided the light intensity is at least 11 lux. Based on user testing, the percentage result was 88.72% of respondents "Strongly Agree" so that this AR application can be implemented as a promotional medium for tourist attractions in Rengat District.
