Abstract
The researcher is interested in finding what strategies are used by teacher in teaching speaking. In the research used qualitative research methods to collect the data and the result from 2 English teachers, researcher used 9 points of observation namely lesson planning, classroom management, teaching methods, use of instructional media, delivery of material, interaction with the student, assessment and feedback, time management, and creativity and innovation. The data was collected and analyzed through 9 classifications of data and main patterns were highlighted The results of the observation are: role-playing, jigsaw, group discussion, picture describing, short lectures, face-to-face interactions, and storytelling, these methods were found to actively engage students and help them focus on the learning materials, thereby improving their speaking skills.
