Abstract
Indonesian culture along with the times, especially communication technology will always experience changes. Where is the current era of globalization, the existence of local culture is at its lowest point and is experiencing a jump in external influences and internal globalization. The current phenomenon that occurs as a result of current technological developments not only provides many positive things but also has negative impacts. This study discusses the use of social media Instagram @Kuansingbacarito as a promotional medium in handling the local culture of Kuantan Singingi. This research was compiled in Kuantan Singingi Regency as a forum for the Instagram account @Kuansingbacarito to obtain information and disseminate it through the Instagram account @Kuansingbacarito. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by way of data acquisition in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study were obtained from the use of social media Instagram as an effective alternative in disseminating information through social media as a promotional platform to introduce a wide audience and even the world about culture, especially history and culture in Kuantan Singingi Regency.
